Cosplay sky Review

Hi guys! Long time, no see. I’ve been very, very busy recently with school and my part-time job. I just finally got the chance to write this up.
So I applied for sponsorship with Cosplay sky a month or so ago since I’ve been buying from them for quite a while and have been generally satisfied with the quality and service provided. They’re very affordable for me, being a student who needs to save for the impending future, and are all worthwhile the price.
I was very glad when they accepted my application, and naturally, chose to go with Umi Sonoda’s Wonderful Rush cosplay, as it’s something I’ve been wanting for a while. So here’s my review!
Quality: 9/10
The overall quality of this cosplay is very, very good. It’s well-made, and the fabric of most of the cosplay is made out of polyester cotton, I believe? It’s my favourite fabric to have for cosplays because it doesn’t wrinkle too easily, sits well and doesn’t look yucky in photos.
My only critique is a few loose strings, but I suppose that is pretty normal for things that are made in bulk! I just worry for the buttons falling off, that’s all (but that isn’t the first time I’ve had a cosplay with loose buttons - it’s quite common, eheh;;). As always, Cosplay sky’s cosplay quality is commendable and I’m quite happy with what I received!
Accuracy: 9/10
Accuracy is always a difficult factor with cosplay that isn’t made by you. That’s the biggest struggle for me, because I’m practically useless with sewing things from scratch and using patterns.
9 times out of 10 will a cosplay not be 100% accurate when you order it off the internet - that’s my 10 cents worth today! However, Cosplay sky has some of the most accurate cosplays you can get. I’ve ordered a Chiaki Nanami cosplay and Stylish Energy Rin cosplay from here before and been really happy with the level of accuracy for them, especially Chiaki’s, since there are so many on the internet you look at and just go, ‘…What?’
This cosplay was also pretty accurate. I only gave this a 9/10 - not because I’m stingy, no - but because the fabric they make the sash out of isn’t the best choice. The sash is originally a see-through fabric, however, they used satin, so it doesn’t really suit the outfit as well as it could. This is only a minor problem for me, though, because it isn’t difficult to get your hands on some fabric to make the sash on your own. It’s only minor - and I don’t think many people would mind this slight difference, anyway.
Fit: 8/10
Let me make a point: don’t order a set size if you want your cosplay to fit you exactly. Get a custom size made if you’re really dead-set on it, because ordering one of the ‘free’ sizes means it may not fit as nicely as you want. Make sure you ALWAYS check your measurements before ordering, too!
For me, it’s really a hit or miss with fit. I struggle mostly with skirts (either they’re too big… or too small. Why is there no in between. Why). That was the only issue with fitting this cosplay. The skirt was really loose, so it was too low down and I’d have to roll it. I mean, that can easily be altered - and if you don’t mind that difference, just go for a set size as I do. That was the only issue I had with sizing for this.
Everything else fit pretty well, which is a relief. I know my body proportions are pretty dumb in comparison to the stereotypical, female shape, so I expected something to not fit me too well. Just be aware of that, guys!
Price: 10/10
This costume would usually cost $60.00. To be quite frank with you, most Wonderful Rush cosplays out there usually cost $80+ so this is a good deal. I think it’s worth it’s pricing, since it pretty much exceeds the standards for ‘cheaper’ cosplay, which is why I love Cosplay sky so much. I really do recommend those who can’t afford so much and are looking for a cosplay that isn’t a satin-icky-mess to buy from here, because it’s worthwhile. Personally, I find eBay too risky when it comes to purchasing cosplay; at least I know my products from Cosplay sky will arrive on time!!
Customer service: 10/10
The staff on Cosplay sky, in all my experiences, have always been friendly and informative. If you ever have any questions, or even complaints about their products, it’s always important to email them about it as I’m sure they’d be willing to help out. To be frank, the arrival of this cosplay caught me by surprise as it came quite early! I was told a longer time, however it came within two to three weeks of me applying. Most cosplay from Cosplay sky takes around 1-3 weeks (depending on how much, and whether it’s a wig or costume). Cosplay sky makes things on order so you usually have to wait a week or so for it to process. Shipping is usually fast and costs around $10 (from memory) when you order a cosplay, which is hardly anything when you’re making a large order. I like the price of the shipping because sometimes, things can just get too expensive when you have to pay the product price and like, $30-something along with it. :(
Cosplay sky’s customer service, from my experience, has been excellent!
Overall rating: 9.5/10
I hope this review was helpful in your decisions! Please make sure you go like Cosplay sky’s Facebook page, as they always have good deals and giveaways on.
Thank you for reading my review!
(Sorry for the gross photos, I broke out the night before and didn’t get the chance to reshoot. The cosplay isn’t complete, so I only took these photos to show the cosplay off! When it is complete, I’ll get better ones and replace the ones here c: )

Hi guys! Long time no see~

I've been busy with real life lately, but I did do a video review on a wig from CosplayBuzz over a month ago and just never got around to posting it here!

I'm planning two more contact lens reviews and the rest of Ryuuko's outfit as well. You might have to wait a bit, ahaha;;
And it seems like I might be getting sponsored as well! :) I'm so happy♥

1st SpreePicky Review!

Hey guys! Today I'll be doing a SpreePicky review.
I've been a big fan of SpreePicky for a while now so I was ecstatic to be allowed to buy some things from it (it was an early birthday present///)

I bought these things!
+ two other things for a friend.

My order was shipped on the 17th of April and it arrived on May 13. Shipping to Australia says to take 7-15 business days, however I believe my package was held up in customs.
During this time I was in contact with SpreePicky's Theresa as she emailed asking if it had arrived yet, and I was still waiting. She was very helpful and even contacted China Post to see what was happening, and offered to resend another package if it got lost and didn't arrive. Eventually it arrived almost a month later, haha. All good!

Nevertheless I was really happy with my package! It came in a bag like this:
It was really heavy, actually; I was surprised they could fit everything in there xD

When I opened it, everything was wrapped individually in bags like this:
(oops it's on it's side;; you get the gist though ^^;;;)

Here's what was inside!
Mirai Kuriyama cosplay.

Galaxy Sailor Uniform Set

Ball-Jointed Doll Tights + White Lace Tights

Free cute SpreePicky magical girl charm that comes with any purchase over $60

Lolita/Harajuku Light Brown Curly Wig

Mirai Kuriyama Cosplay Cardigan
Also with the package, Meko, one of SpreePicky's staff, was a birthday gift! /u\ it's so beautiful!
Elegant Heart Key and Crown Necklace
 The cute envelope my necklace came in//

The necklace on~
Thank you so much Meko!

Of course I was so excited to try my stuff on, so here's the results!
The beautiful wig and sailor uniform! Sorry, the lighting made the two bottom pictures look purple, it looks more like the top picture;;;

My cosplay, uniform and tights in detail!
They all fit perfectly! I could actually go a size smaller with the sailor uniform (it was size M) but I didn't want to get something too small because that can't be altered. But both of my orders were M size; please note SpreePicky uses different sizes in comparison to Australian/American sizes - I'm a size XS/S in Australia but I fit M on SpreePicky. Make sure you record your measurements before ordering off the internet because of sizing variation, okay? uwu

Okay, so here's for individual reviews on each item~

Mirai Kuriyama Uniform + Cardigan Cosplay

First of all, I really like the quality of the fabric the cosplay was made out of. The uniform is made out of a sort of polyester-feeling fabric; it's the kind of fabric that doesn't wrinkle too easily and doesn't need to be ironed very much.
The cardigan is also really well made, even my mother and sister said how well done it is! It's obviously made out of some type of wool. (As you can tell, I'm not the expert when it comes to tailoring/sewing ;w;)
As before said they fit me perfectly, and they are size M. I'm about 159cm/5'2" tall for reference and I'm not very curvy or well-endowed. I'm glad they fit me so well because a lot of cosplay assumes my waist size fits larger breasts... ahah ^^;;

The only issue I have is that the buttons seem to be loosely sewn on... it doesn't ruin how the cosplay appears but I fear if I went to a con they could fall off easily if I wasn't careful ;w;
Additionally, the zipper on my skirt is a struggle to zip up fully; we actually had slight difficulty unzipping it when I first tried to put it on. However it unzipped, and it must be due to the seam on the skirt that makes the zipper very stiff. Even so, I guess it's good it doesn't zip the full way, if I zipped it the full way it would sit higher and be very short on me uwu with every negative comes the positive!
These are minor issues though and don't affect the look of the cosplay. So they can easily be dismissed.

The colour on the uniform and cardigan are accurate in the pictures provided on the website, and accurate as possible as well with Mirai's actual uniform in the anime!

My overall rating for the uniform is 4.5 out of 5 stars. My overall rating for the cardigan is 5 stars.
I definitely recommend the uniform and cardigan!!

Galaxy Glimmer Stars Misprint Long Sleeve Shirt and Pleated Skirt

When I saw anzujaamu wearing this I fell in love. It's the cutest and coolest outfit ever!
I love astronomy so how could I not resist?

Despite the misprint I really like it and think it's good quality. I think I could go a size down with this; but I wasn't sure because my size for the skirt measured as an S but my torso measures as an M (and you could only order one size for both), I ended up going with M because it could always be altered if it was too big. However it fits me fine still and is not too big.

It's a bit of a tedious task to iron it, wrinkles get into the shirt easily haha ^^;; The fabric used is thin and cool, so I think it mostly suits any season.

The shirt has a zip in the size and buttons on the flap part at the collar to get it on easily. Also the sleeves have buttons which you can undo. The bow is attached separately and you pull it underneath the collar and attach each ends of the bow with velcro. It holds/stays really well!
The skirt has an elastic waistband and a zipper plus button to get it on and off easily.
I like to wear the shirt out, I think I look strange with it tucked in! ;u;

I'm planning to wear this to my birthday dinner. It's too adorable not to!

I rate this 5 stars and recommend it! Make sure you match up your measurements correctly and if you're not sure, always get it bigger ^^//

Harajuku Puppet Arthrosis Tattoo Tights
Ahh, I've been dying to get these tights in forever!
I think they'd go really well with a lolita co-ord and I intend to coordinate them with my lolita dresses uvu

As expected, these tights are thick like normal tights (not like tattoo tights) so they won't tear as easily. I find them really comfortable and warm. The print of the ball-joints on it are clear and well-done; they look realistic like I'm an actual real-life ball-jointed doll, haha.

They are super cute, go well with any clothes and have that quirky, unique style like a lot of Harajuku fashion has. I recommend them to anyone who loves Harajuku fashion or even lolita fashion!! n_n

I give these 5 stars.

Beautiful Vintage Trend Knitting Lace Pantyhose Tight Stocking

Ahh, these are so lovely! I wore them out for a birthday dinner for some relatives the other night. They'd definitely go perfect with any lolita or himekaji co-ord! I chose white because I can match it with a lot of outfits, but they come in other colours such as black, pink and grey as well.

These are thinner than the ball-jointed doll tights, so you have to wear them with care so they don't tear. The lace pattern is very detailed and good quality, and gosh it's just so pretty!! ;A;
They aren't as warm either, but this is good because it means I can wear them in summer without dying from heatstroke heheh;;

I give these 5 stars! I recommend them if you're into pretty, cute, lacy things uwu//

Lolita Harajuku Light Brown Curly Wig
This wig is so gorgeous! I've been searching for a more natural wig I could wear with fashion and lolita and this fit those requirements perfectly.

It's quite long; it reaches my waist, and really good quality! It shines a little but I think it looks nice that way. Under different lights it varies in colour, sometimes it looks like a purpley-pink, other times it's a light brown; I like the change! When you look up close it's a combination of brown and purple streaks which explains it's unusual colour.

The hair is soft and thick and I haven't had any fall out yet. The fringe is not ready-cut, you will have to style it if you want to. I quite like it the way I have it now so I'll leave it for now and maybe cut a fringe later uvu

I think this wig is the best quality one out of my wigs that I have, and I really like it... I highly recommend if you're after a wig which is good quality and you can wear daily.

I give this 5 stars!

My overall review

Product quality: 4.9/5
All accurate to what is shown in the picture on the website, worth the price and good quality! All the sizes were accurate as well and fit correctly.

Customer service: 5/5
The staff were really helpful when I hadn't received any update on my package's tracking and extremely polite. It's also so sweet of them to go out of their way to include a birthday present ahh///

I recommend SpreePicky to anyone who is looking for good quality J-fashion/K-fashion wigs, clothes, accessories and cosplay! Their staff members are incredibly friendly and are there to help, so don't be afraid to send them any inquiries!

I hope you liked my review and it was helpful. It was my first clothing/wig review so I hope I did well. Please feel free to leave any questions in the comments below!!

My next review should be my new contacts... they'll be arriving in a week or so! Keep an eye out.

Thank you for reading!///

Instagram Q&A

Hi guys~!
So I asked my followers on my Instagram account if they had any questions regarding stuff about me/my cosplay/etc. so I had something to post on my blogspot.
Here are the questions and my answers, I hope they are... informative? Haha.

1.       How long have you been cosplaying?
I’ve been cosplaying seriously/officially since the end of July/August. So, for about nine or ten months? ^^;; (I’m bad at counting please don’t yell at me if that’s wrong;; )

2.       Why did you start cosplaying?
(This is really long omg ahh sorry ^^”)
Well, I first became interested in anime/manga/Vocaloid when I was about 11 years old. I knew about cosplay but I never considered it (thinking I wouldn’t be allowed) until I was 14 (in 2012). When I was 14 I found out there was going to be a cosplay group in my city’s annual parade-thing and, considering I live in a small city in Australia, the fact that something like cosplay was happening was very exciting. So all of a sudden, I really wanted to cosplay! Unfortunately I didn’t have any cosplay, so I went along with a friend and my family to watch the parade and met a Rin and Miku cosplayer. I was, being a big fan of Vocaloid, extremely excited, and I swore to myself to have a cosplay by the next year so I could join the group myself (in 2013).

In the next year, during March and April, I randomly started looking up the cosplay hashtag on Instagram and was inspired by many cosplayers such as MomoSweetCosplay and Rinnaayycosplay. I especially was fond of them because they cosplayed Rin, ahahaha. I was still really eager to buy a Rin cosplay of my own but my mum was (still is) kind of edgy about online shopping and didn’t want to ;w; At the end of May (a day after my birthday) I travelled to Japan for a 5-week-long homestay program that only three other people and I got accepted into. It was very exciting because I love Japan and it was a dream come true. Whilst I was over there I went to a BODYLINE shop in Harajuku and saw a Rin cosplay being sold really cheap (and it was accurate/nice quality too). Well – how could I not buy it?!

Yes, I did buy it… and it’s the same cosplay I wear now. I also met some amazing Vocaloid cosplayers on Yume no Oohashi (Bridge of Dreams) in Odaiba. They inspired me even more!

So, well, basically I then made an Instagram account dedicated to my  cosplay (rinrinrinnie) and participated in many of the cosplay club events, including the parade. And that’s it. Kind of boring, I’m sorry, ahaha.

3.       What is your favourite cosplay that you’ve done?
I only have 2 and ¾ of cosplays (the ¾ being Len and Mirai, oops). So I guess it really counts out of Rin and Miku—and well, it’s definitely Rin. She’s who got me into cosplay, I guess. And she’s adorable and my favourite Vocaloid character alongside Len ;//w//;

4.       What’s the most satisfying part of cosplaying?
Well, I enjoy cosplay because I get to become someone I’m really not. It’s like I’ve transformed like a magical girl, hahaha. I really love how different I can look from me just from putting on some makeup and a wig. And I love people’s reactions too xD

5.       What’s the most frustrating part of cosplaying?
It can get very costly if you can’t sew for shiz (like me) and when you can’t get your makeup right, instead of putting you in a good mood, you get really angry! Also having to wait for your cosplay in the mail when all you want to do is wear it ;w; And I hate how wigs give me tension headaches and how hot I get in cosplay (it’s so hard to even live when you put it on during summer, I could just die).
Sometimes with cosplay as well I can also feel like I don’t cosplay very good after seeing someone else with cosplay I have and them being praised for it. When it comes to cosplay as well, I dislike cosplaying the same characters as another because I feel I’m getting compared/that I’m not good enough ;n;

6.       Are you single?
Yes. However I’m not too worried about rushing into a relationship at the moment. I’m only 15 (technically 16 at the end of May this year) and I think people put too much pressure on others to feel like they need a partner. Also, a lot of boys my age/around my age are… well, not interested in me and I find them too immature anyway xD; I would prefer to wait and find someone who is worth it, and isn’t going to try and get in my pants ASAP or judge me for what I do c:

7.       Favourite Vocaloid songs?
I have a lot but whenever someone asks this question I usually recommend Hayakawa-P’s The Rise and Fall of the Psychic Girl (part of the Girl series, which I love, mmhmm dayumn OTP shipping all the way), God-P’s Glass Slippers and Giga-P’s Childish War.

8.       How tall are you?
I’m 158cm. Or 159cm. I have no idea, but one of those is probably correct.

9.       What kind of ketchup do they have in Australia?
Um, most of us call ketchup tomato sauce for one xD… However I think McDonald’s still calls their sauce ketchup. Anyway, we have things like Heinz and MasterFood.
…and that’s all I know, because I like their sauce. I like tomato sauce, and if I wouldn’t get hit for it I would live off tomato sauce sandwiches… totally healthy.

So, yeah... If you have any more questions please ask and once I get enough I'll post an updated version of this~

I also have a big SpreePicky unsponsored review planned for once it comes in the mail. Some of it includes the rest of my Mirai Kuriyama cosplay which I'm very eager to put on *^*//

And I do have a video review planned for when I get my new circle lenses. It will be posted on my YouTube and I will also post a link to it on here with a quick overview of the video review c:

Please keep an eye out!

New reviews coming soon!

Hi everyone!

So I will be posting more reviews soon, hopefully. I just recently received my petticoat for lolita fashion from lightinthebox.com, however there's currently a cyclone heading towards where I live so the weather is too bad to properly dress up in lolita and take some pictures, unfortunately.
Hopefully sometime next week I'll be able to get some shots and write up a quick review on it, so stay tuned!

I also will have to purchase another pair of contacts to replace the ones I already have because they're getting close to needing a replacement and it's better to be safe than sorry. Instead of buying EOS Fairy Blue I was thinking of trying either Super Pinky Blue or G&G Aloha Blue to see if they were any more comfortable.
In addition, if I'm allowed to, I want to buy a pair of brown lenses for casual wear and my upcoming Mirai Kuriyama cosplay, and I'm thinking of either Vassen Latte Brown or Beuberry Merry Brown.

So hopefully I'll have a few reviews coming in the next couple of weeks!

Thanks for reading.

PinkyParadise EOS Fairy Blue Review

Here's my first review!

I tried hiding my sunburn sorry for the "secret" thing ;;w;;

PinkyParadise EOS Fairy Blue

Natural eye colour: Brown
Diameter: 14.5mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.8mm
Life Span: 9-12 months.
Prescription: Yes.
Colour: 5/5. These were my second pair of blue circle lenses I’d owned (the first pair I bought in Japan). I bought them for the sake of Cosplay, as I really wanted to Cosplay the character Rin Kagamine, however did not have the correct eye colour. The colour in these were 100% better than the contacts I’d previously had, as they show up pretty fantastically on my dark eyes. In real life, they’re pretty noticeable and I’ve gotten heaps of compliments, and people commenting on how “blue” my eyes are. They blend really well with my natural colour, and when you’re not close up they actually look pretty realistic. The colour of them is spot on—they’re great for Rin, and because of their light colour, actually suit Miku as well!
Although, these contacts may not always show solidly in photos that have bad lighting (unless you use filters), but that isn’t too much of an issue for me as I was looking more for ones you can notice in real life as opposed to in bad-quality photos.
Enlargement: 5/5. I wasn’t too worried about enlargement; however, a small enlargement was perfectly fine. These succeeded and they give me that super kawaii, dolly-eyed look which is great for Cosplay. Because of their size they’re not too unrealistic either. Personally I could probably go bigger if I wanted, haha.
Comfort: 4/5. The only issue with these is that I find them a little dry. I will usually need to pop eye drops into my eyes after around 3-4 hours to ease them a little, and I find I will feel them in more often as time goes on. I can’t say I would forget having these in because of their slight dryness, however I suppose it varies, as I believe I have slightly dry eyes naturally because even with my normal prescription lenses they still get dry after a while. I will probably go for lenses with higher water content next time to avoid this!
Customer service: 5/5. When these lenses first arrived and after soaking them for 12+ hours, I tried them out to find my right contact was unnaturally uncomfortable. I consulted the FAQ and ended up emailing a support ticket to PinkyParadise and got a reply within the next day, where I had to fill out a damage/faulty lens report. After I had done so, I got a reply back immediately saying they would replace my faulty lens. A few days later I received my replacement and was satisfied. PinkyParadise had prompt replies and sorted out the problem with ease, which I’m very grateful for!
Whenever you buy contact lenses from PinkyParadise you get a free cute animal case with your contacts too. C:
Also, these are my only circle lenses at the moment, and I pretty much use them for all my cosplays that I own. I hope to buy more in the future though.

Thanks for reading! ^w^

About me and places you can find me at

Hello, I'm Kayla. I'm a 15 year old from Australia, and cosplay is my hobby!
You can call me Kayla, Rin or Rinnie.
I've been cosplaying since July 2013. I've been interested in anime, manga and cosplay since I was about 11 years old (almost five years). I'm not a pro at my hobby; I'm still learning and I only have a couple of cosplays. Hopefully the numbers increase.
My favourite colour is orange, my favourite foods are, well, a lot..., and my favourite drinks are bubble tea/tapioca, tea, and any grape-flavoured drink. c:

I love, love, love the Japanese culture (fashion, food, traditions, language, people - literally everything!) and alongside that, I love drawing and playing the piano. I draw realism and manga, and I study art at school.
Besides that, I study Japanese (I've been studying it since grade 4; however, effectively studying it since year 8), and I've done home-stay in Japan for over a month and visited another time for two weeks on a class trip (both last year). I love Japan, in case you haven't already read my reiterations in the above text, and I'm studying really hard to become the best I can in Japanese while I'm staying in Australia so I can earn a scholarship to study at a university over there.
I'm not sure on any future careers (I would love to become a professional cosplayer or to do something with fashion or art but those are awfully difficult careers to become successful in ^^"), but I have my heart set on at least living in Japan for a while or forever, so I'm considering options such as teaching English. However, anything can happen, so...

If it isn't any more obvious, I am a big fan of VOCALOID, especially Rin and Len Kagamine. They are my ultimate favourites and I love them immensely. I currently own a Rin cosplay and I'm working on a Len. I'm not really up with the times with VOCALOID (the newer VOCALOID don't interest me very much) but I'm sure I can ramble on about Rin and Len until the sun goes down, haha.

Anyway, here are some other websites/places you can follow me on -
